Hi, I’m Fei.

For more than a decade, I’ve been teaching Chinese to students from different countries, backgrounds, ages, and professions.

Over the years, I’ve worked with more than 500 students — from complete beginners learning their first Chinese words to advanced learners who want to communicate more naturally and confidently.

Some learn Chinese for travel. Some want to communicate with Chinese-speaking family members or partners. Others need Chinese for work, business, healthcare, or simply because they love the language and culture.

And I’m still teaching every day.

Teaching is still an important part of what I do because every student teaches me something too. Every lesson brings new questions, new learning challenges, and new ways for me to explain Chinese more clearly.

So even after more than a decade of teaching, I’m still learning, improving, and gaining new experience as a teacher.

That experience continues to shape Fluent Chinese.

For years, most of my knowledge stayed inside my lessons.

I created explanations, examples, exercises, pronunciation practice, conversation activities, and learning materials to help individual students understand Chinese.

But there was always one limitation:

A teacher only has so many hours in a day.

In a private lesson, I may be able to help one student at a time. In a small class, I can help a few more.

But a clear explanation, a useful exercise, or a well-designed learning tool online can potentially help thousands of learners.

That realization became the idea behind Fluent Chinese.

Instead of keeping years of teaching experience inside individual lessons, I want to turn that knowledge into a learning platform that anyone can use.

Fluent Chinese isn't meant to be just another textbook transferred onto a website.

Much of what I create here comes from real teaching experience.

After working with more than 500 students, I’ve seen many of the same questions appear again and again:

• How can I remember the tones?
• Why do Chinese people say it this way?
• What is the difference between these two words?
• I understand the grammar, but how do I actually use it?
• How can I make my Chinese sound more natural?
• What should I learn next?

These are exactly the kinds of questions I want Fluent Chinese to help answer.

My goal is to take what I’ve learned from years of teaching and turn it into clear explanations, practical examples, interactive practice, and useful learning resources.

Fluent Chinese is not a finished website.

It is a learning platform that I am continuing to build.

I’m still teaching students every day, still discovering better ways to explain Chinese, and still learning from the difficulties that real learners experience.

As my teaching continues to grow, Fluent Chinese will grow with it.

I’ll continue adding and improving pronunciation tools, grammar lessons, vocabulary practice, reading materials, interactive exercises, downloadable resources, and other practical ways to learn Chinese.

Some updates may be small — a clearer explanation, a better example, or a few new practice questions.

Others will become complete learning resources, courses, and interactive tools.

The idea behind all of them is the same:

Take years of real teaching experience and make that knowledge available to far more learners than I could ever teach one by one.

A teacher’s time is limited.

But good teaching doesn’t have to be.

That is why I created Fluent Chinese.

And it will keep growing, one lesson at a time.
